Here's the deal. I tried to start up the car and the battery was dead. I jumped it and it fired up...let it idle for 15minutes...turned the engine off...then tried to start it up again. The battery was dead again. I checked the battery to see if there was still water in it and there was.
I tried to jump it again and now it won't start. The engine is turning, but won't fire up. I noticed I wasn't getting any spark, so I replaced the igniter (in the distibutor), jumped it again, and it fired up. Let it
idle for 15 minutes...turned it off...tried to start it and no juice again! I'm thinking of getting a new battery, but I don't want to waste any $$ if that's not the problem. So before I buy one, anyone ever have this kind of problem. Are there any other things to look at? I also replaced the alternator and the alternator belt tension is fine.

It's most likley the Battery it's you don't want to wast money one buying the batter if it's not the problem the get a battery from a friend and put it in your car start it up and see if it still works after 15min like you were doing if it does then go out and buy a new battery and give that one back to your friend!!

It could be the altenator. Try start it up and then take out the batery terminal. If the car died then it's the alternator... or to make life easier go to your local Advance or Napa they got a machine that check this stuff. ;>
